Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder or who can afford it. One of the top 3 luxury foundations should be a staple in any woman’s beauty closet. With that being said there are times where you have to spend a little bit more in order to get the best. As someone who wasn’t caught up in brands when it came to makeup and was content with using a drug store brand. While I enjoy experimenting and seeing what works there are those times where you just want to try a designer brand. The tedious process of figuring out what your shade is and the change of formula does make a difference when deciding where to buy makeup.
I went to Sephora one faithful day and never left, in fact, I am there way too much. Before deciding on what foundation I wanted, I made sure to do my research and ask for suggestions from different sales rep. There is always that doubt as to if the foundation lives up to the hype or is it worth the price tag. In order to make my decision, I had to love the makeup itself but also wear it for extended periods of time (which sometimes is up to 12 hrs), the consistency and how it feels on my skin. Out of all the brands I have tried some came close but there were three clear winners.
# 3 Chanel
This brand is classic and makes everything looks better including your face. The first thing I think about when I see Chanel isn’t foundation but their bags (that I so want one of) while doing my research Chanel was one of those that came up. I was a bit worried as Chanel is associated with luxury (nothing wrong with that) but will it be durable, of all the three this is the second expensive at over $60 but I will say it’s worth the penny. This lightweight compact makeup looks and feels good on the skin, I was also worried about matching however this wasn’t an issue and found my shade. I always liked the brand of Chanel and so far their makeup foundation hasn’t disappoint.
#2 Armani
Like Chanel I Armani and their foundation didn’t disappoint. This foundation has been around for a while now and even before I ventured out I heard nothing but good things about it. This was one of the first luxury makeup that I bought as I really wanted it and one day stepped into Sephora with my mind made up and I got it. I will say like Chanel I felt the hurt on my pocket ($64 to be exact) but on the other hand sometimes you have to spend a little bit more to see something different. The best thing about this is that it is so lightweight and goes on smooth plus a little goes a long way, the match was beautiful and I would wear it all the time. On the downside, I found it’s not the best for extended periods of time. This foundation is more for gathering that has a short duration and doesn’t involve too much work.
#1 Givenchy
This was a close call between Armani but I had to be honest and give Givenchy the win. Initially, when I bought this foundation I was going to buy a Dior foundation, upon searching and asking one of the sales rep she pointed me to Givenchy. I was really skeptical but willing to give it a try so I bought it for $52, cheaper than both Armani and Chanel, so money in your pocket. I wore it to both an event as well as work and this foundation can handle my heavy schedule. On both occasions, I wasn’t disappointed and saw the clear winner. This foundation’s consistency is creamy and light so it spreads easily and a little goes a long way. By far this is the winner.
